The purpose of the Crown

Its keepers maintained safe crossings between places whose climates, spirits, and physical laws do not naturally align. The network prevented the forces of one world from consuming another.

Crownfall

During the conflict remembered as Crownfall, rival powers tried to command the Crown at the same time. The artifact broke before any faction gained control.

Fragments crossed the ancient routes and embedded themselves in creatures, people, ruins, spirits, and dormant runic machines. Their influence can amplify instincts, awaken memories, distort terrain, or create destructive obsessions.

The Crownmarked

Player characters are Crownmarked: rare adventurers able to sense, endure, and interact with fragment energy. The mark does not make them chosen monarchs; it makes them valuable, feared, and responsible for choices others cannot make.

Stories that continue

Each world reveals a different consequence of Crownfall. Regional conflicts can be resolved, but the network remains open to new routes, crises, and discoveries.
